Not every where now-a-days is pet friendly, however unbelievable to us dog lovers. So when we have to travel whether to visit family, or because of an unexpected emergency, as owners we need to know that we aren't leaving our dogs in a stressful situation. We need to know they feel safe. Cement floors and chainlink walls are not what our furry friends are accustomed to and the more changes a dog undergoes the more stress it is put under. This can lead to anxiety, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and dehydration. Whether just for one night or a few weeks no owner would like this for their dogs. With a large business, a note will be made on his/her chart, and when the dog races for the door they will tell you "He did great! He's so excited to see you! Come back soon!" I expect owners to call about their dogs and know the importance of communicating every problem should one arise. Where you place your dogs while your away should be a place they want to come to. |
