There are an unexpected number of our cuddly buddies that aren't so cuddly once you pull the nail clippers out, or try and get them in the bath. Once dogs have a bad experience it takes time and trust for them to see that everything is going to be ok. Clipping a dogs nails can be intimidating to someone who hasn't done it often. The inner quick is in most cases not visible, and if cut too short the nail can bleed quite profusely. I have worked with all temperments, and don't have 20 dogs waititng to be bathed. I can offer your dog the calm commitment he/she needs to see the bathing experience is something not to fear. |
